8/12/15 – Your resurrected body will be like “Superman”

Published: Wednesday, 12 August 2015 Written by Carlton L. Arnold

For we know that if the earthly tent we live in is destroyed, we have a building from God, an eternal house in heaven, not built by human hands. 2 Corinthians 5:1

The concept of our resurrected bodies is strange and wonderful.  Many Believers have a difficult time accepting the Biblical fact that God will change their earthly body into a glorified body that will be just like the glorified body of Christ.  For this reason, I am including an abundance of Bible verses that support the idea of your glorified body.  A fundamental fact about needing a glorified body is to remove the temptations that our earthly body continued to unmercifully pound at us while we were living on earth.

When we live in the Presence of God, there can be no sin and, therefore, no temptations originating from a worldly body.  God will remove Satan as a tempter for eternity.  The only other thing that is needed to live with Him for an eternity is to change the body into a glorified body.  A quick Biblical reference for the resurrected body is 1 Corinthians, Chapter 15.  I recommend you read that chapter several times during the week and soak in the miraculous work that God will do with your body.

So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body.  If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body.1 Corinthians 15:42-44

Read these words about your future body.  It will be imperishable; i.e., it will be immortal and will not suffer death.  It will be raised in glory; i.e., the removal of the stain and guilt of sin. It will shine as a star in the sky.  It will be raised in power.   Men must love to hear this.  There will be incomparable strength with the body and no weakness.  Finally it will be a spiritual body.  This is required since God is a Spirit; we must have a spiritual body.  However (and a strong “however”), our souls will continue to be unique to who we are.  This will be discussed in more detail in a future article.

And just as we have borne the image of the earthly man, so shall we bear the image of the heavenly man.  1 Corinthians 15:42-49 This is an amazing statement that I have a difficult time accepting.  Our bodies will be “the image of the heavenly man”.  Who is that man?  Jesus Christ.  This is a tremendous gift from God to His creation, man.  It is too much to comprehend in our current worldly bodies, but one day all Believers will have a glorified body created by God.  Praise the Lord!
