8/10/16 – The Return of Christ

Published: Wednesday, 10 August 2016 Written by Carlton L. Arnold

As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it and said, “If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace—but now it is hidden from your eyes… because you did not recognize the time of God’s coming to you.”  Luke 19:41-42

I freely admit that I am using the feelings that Jesus had for the Jews to apply to our world today.  God continues to reveal himself to each individual and to every nation on this earth.  He came the first time as an innocent sacrifice for our sins.  He is coming again as a King to execute judgment on the world.

Think of the emotions that Jesus was experiencing, because His own people, the Jews, would reject Him and scream for Him to be crucified.  He accused the Jews of not recognizing who He was and who had sent Him.  Because of this rejection, they would not know the peace that they could have had.  For the world today, every person have a similar choice of either screaming for Christ to be crucified, or accepting Him as our Savior and Lord.

The verses also indicate that God is allowing only so much time before He will begin the End Times.  There will come a time in everyone’s life when it will be too late to accept Christ.  God says that some people will not recognize that the God of all Creation will begin a process to change everything.  Most of these people who have rejected Christ will continue to refuse to believe God.

It is hard to imagine that the stubborn heart of humankind will believe anything except the return of Christ and the beginning of the end times.  I pray that every Believer has the Second Coming of Christ firmly entrenched in their convictions and in the way they live their lives.  For Believers, the return of Christ will be a time of celebration and worship.  Although, tough times will occur in this world, Believers will know that God is going through a period of judging the nations.  This is a sign of the short time that evil can continue to exist on this world.  God will put an end to evil, Satan and his demons, and death.  As Believers, it is a time for us to look forward to, and to celebrate and worship.  Are you excited and ready for the return of Christ?
