2/18/15: Humanity’s Response to God’s Valentine (NIV)

Published: Wednesday, 18 February 2015 Written by Carlton L. Arnold

Note: "A Valentine Card from God to Humanity" was published on 2/11/15.  See www.lifechangingverses.com.  This is humanity’s response to that article using only Bible verses (NIV) referenced as shown.  There are no words added by the writer.   I pray that everyone who reads this article will experience a deeper spiritual relationship to God.

Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.1   Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me.2   May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.3

See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God.4   Let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.5   Do not be quick with your mouth, do not be hasty in your heart to utter anything before God. God is in heaven and you are on earth, so let your words be few.6

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 7   But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. 8   I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. 9   And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.10  Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice.11

Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.12   This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands.13  Walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.14 Blessed are those who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart.15

May your hearts be fully committed to the Lord our God, to live by his decrees and obey his commands, as at this time.16

May he turn our hearts to him, to walk in obedience to him and keep the commands, decrees and laws he gave our ancestors.17

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.18
