2/18/15: Humanity’s Response to God’s Valentine (NABRE)

Note: "A Valentine Card from God to Humanity" was published on 2/11/15.  See  This is humanity’s response to that article using only Bible verses (NABRE) referenced as shown.  There are no words added by the writer.   I pray that everyone who reads this article will experience a deeper spiritual relationship to God.

Probe me, God, know my heart; try me, know my thoughts.1   You will let me hear gladness and joy; the bones you have crushed will rejoice.2   Also from arrogant ones restrain your servant; let them never control me.  Then shall I be blameless, innocent of grave sin.3

Take care, brothers, that none of you may have an evil and unfaithful heart, so as to forsake the living God.4    Let us approach with a sincere heart and in absolute trust, with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed in pure water.5   As dreams come along with many cares, so a fool’s voice along with a multitude of words.6

See what love the Father has bestowed on us that we may be called the children of God. Yet so we are. The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him. 7   But God, who is rich in mercy, because of the great love he had for us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, brought us to life with Christ (by grace you have been saved). 8   Yet I live, no longer I, but Christ lives in me; insofar as I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God who has loved me and given himself up for me. 9   And hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out into our hearts through the holy Spirit that has been given to us.10   Glory in his holy name; rejoice, O hearts that seek the Lord!11

Beloved, let us love one another, because love is of God; everyone who loves is begotten by God and knows God.12   In this way we know that we love the children of God when we love God and obey his commandments.13   And live in love, as Christ loved us and handed himself over for us as a sacrificial offering to God for a fragrant aroma.14 Blessed those who keep his testimonies, who seek him with all their heart.15

Your heart must be wholly devoted to the Lord, our God, observing his statutes and keeping his commandments, as on this day.16

May he draw our hearts to himself, that we may walk in his ways and keep the commands, statutes, and ordinances that he enjoined on our ancestors.17

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.18
